From 2011 until 2013 Bart worked on a large project for the Belgian Government in the framework of the World War I commemoration. For this project he has documented the remains of World War I in Flanders Fields both aesthetically and historically. The best images photographed in the scope of this project were later published in his first book ‘Silent Fields – Memorial sites of the Great War’.
